Amelia Earhart Book

This book commemorates Amelia Earhart’s disappearance over the Pacific Ocean during her 1937 attempt to circumnavigate the globe. The imagery is based on the concept of connecting the dots, whether by linking points on a map, navigating by the stars, or expanding a generation’s idea of what is possible. The text is drawn from her journals and letters.

Front text: “Please know I am quite aware of the hazards of the trip. I want to do it because I want to do it. Women must try to do things as men have tried. When they fail, their failure must be but a challenge to others.”

Back text: “Hooray for the last grand adventure! I wish I had won, but it was worthwhile anyway. You know that I have no faith we’ll meet anywhere again, but I wish we might.”
